Laboratory Courses
Department of Industrial TechnologyDepartment of Family Studies and Interior Design
Non-credit laboratory time up to 3 hours a week will be considered as part of the normal workload and no adjustment will be made to the normal workload of 11 to 13 contact hours.
Adjustments Requiring Approved Specific Guidelines
Department of Family Studies and Interior Design
Field Experience and Internship, when requiring significant effort, will come under the independent studies and thesis advising guidelines.
Department of Business Administration/Education
Reassigned time for the instructors teaching the methods classes will determined on a semester by semester basis in consideration of the student load.
Nebraska Safety Center
At the time the Nebraska Safety Center legislation, passed in 1978, 体育菠菜大平台 (KSC) administration promised to continue supporting the academic responsibility of the Center at a FTE level. Additional faculty have been added to provide for public service activities authorized in the legislation.
Instructor assignment to courses are based upon the 1.25 FTE continuation from the College of Business and Technology. Assignments to provide for full loads are made by the Director of the Nebraska Safety Center based upon projects conducted by Nebraska Safety Center faculty.
Director Load
Department of Business Administration/Education
Three credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Director of the Airway Science Programs.
Department of Economics
Three credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Director of the Center for Economic Education.
M.B.A. Program
Three credit hour reassigned load for the Director of the M.B.A. Program.
COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
Non-Teaching Work Load:
College of Education: Six credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Director of Field Experiences
Department of Teacher Education: Six credit hour reassigned load each semester for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education Transfer/Traditional Student Advisor
Six credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Assistant Department Chair of Teacher Education
Department of HPERLS: .49 FTE reassigned load each semester for the Coordinator of Recreation and Cushing Facilities
Three credit hour reassigned load each semester for Director of Athletic Training Program
Three credit hour reassigned load each semester for Director of Human Performance Lab and Wellness Program
Department of CDIS: Three credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Graduate Program Director
Up to three credit hour reassigned load each semester for the Clinic Coordinator
Student teaching/practicum/internship:
College of Education: Rule 20 sets standards for teaching loads at Nebraska institutions with teacher education programs as follows:
Concerning supervision of graduate teacher practicum:
Workload will be figured using guidelines for supervision for student teaching (see above).
Department of HPERLS:
Workload credit for laboratory instruction will normally be computed at a figure between 50% and 75% of contact hours
Six credit hour reassigned load each semester for Director of Internships/Practicums for Exercise Science, Sports Administration, and Recreation & Park Management programs
Department of CDIS:
One credit hour assignment for 3 speech/language practicum clients
One credit hour assignment for 5 diagnostic practicum clients
One credit hour assignment for 3 clinic competency practicum clients
One credit hour assignment for 20 student credit hours of internship supervision
Department of Teacher Education:
One credit hour assignment for 20 student credit hours generated in the online post-baccalaureate professional sequence modules.
COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Laboratory Courses:
Practicums and Internships:
The Department Chair and the Dean will reassign Faculty load for directing student field and clinical experience. The following three levels of Faculty involvement will guide the reassignment of load:
Level 1: | Arranging student field experience under the direct supervision of a non-faculty practitioner where scheduled class meetings supervised by faculty member are not required |
Level 2: | Arranging student field experience under the direct supervision of a non-faculty practitioner in which regularly scheduled group class meetings conducted by the faculty member are required. |
Level 3: | Direct supervision of a faculty practitioner of student clinical experience. |
Social Work Program:
The field Placement Coordinator will receive 6 workload credit hours per semester for the duties of this position, to include teaching SOWK 480, SOWK 481, and SOWK 482.
